TERMS OF THE CALL FOR THE LUIS MARTINEZ DE BARTOLOMÉ SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
1. Introduction
JFROG SAS (the “Company”) is pleased to announce the first edition of the Luis Martinez de Bartolome Scholarship Award (the “Award”). This Award aims to honor and remember our dear colleague Mr. Luis Martinez de Bartolomé and his huge contribution to the open-source and C++ world.
The objective of the Award is to recognize and support STEM students, providing the winner with the opportunity to obtain an economic scholarship to cover the costs of one (1) year of tuition in a Spanish public university in any degree of Computer Science, Engineering and associated degrees during the 2025-2026 academic year (the "Academic Year").
2. Monetary Award
The Award is endowed with a maximum gross amount of 2000 euros, but it may vary depending on the tuition fees of the corresponding university. The applicable tax withholdings will be deducted.
The amount of the Award may only be applied to the tuition fee at the university where the candidate has been admitted or is currently studying, which will be paid directly by the Company.
If the costs and expenses to be borne or incurred by the recipient exceed the maximum endowment of the Award or do not meet the required conditions for their accrual and/or disbursement, they will be the exclusive responsibility of the recipient. The endowment cannot be allocated to concepts other than those indicated above.
3. Candidate Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Award, candidates must meet the following requirements:- Applicants must be students of at least half a full course for 2025-2026 in a Spanish public university. It is not compulsory to be enrolled at the time of the submission, but the Award will only be awarded if the criteria is met.
- To have open-source contributions during the last 12 months before the opening of this process (i.e. include the month and the year).
- Each candidate must submit their Github/Gitlab/other usernames and up to 5 public open-source repositories (with a valid OSS license).
- The number of lines of code contributed to the past year for every repository will be counted. That will be weighted by the number of stars of the repository, with a factor from 0-10, computed as the number of stars (capped at 10,000) divided by 1000.
4. Documentation to be submitted.
Applications will be submitted via the dedicated online form, including:- Contact details: Full name e-mail, etc.
- Current university and specific degree.
- Submit the GitHub/GitLab/other usernames along with up to 5 public open-source repositories that have a valid OSS license. The number of lines of code contributed to the past year for each repository will be counted and weighted by the number of stars, using a factor from 0-10, calculated as the number of stars (capped at 10,000) divided by 1,000.
- Extra information about the open source contributions, motivation or other merits.
- National identity document or passport.
- Proof of ownership of the open source contributions
- Letter or email from the university reflecting the candidate's access to the admission process for the Academic Year and the status of the process at the time of submitting the application for the Award. If the candidate has been admitted at the time of submitting the application, the admission document (letter or e-mail) issued by the corresponding university will suffice. If admission to the university occurs after the Award is granted, the candidate must immediately present an accrediting document issued by the university to the Company.
- Necessary details for the University tuition payment, which will be paid directly by the Company.
5. Data Protection
- The Company is the data controller responsible for the processing of personal data in connection with the Award.
- Personal data collected from candidates will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Award, including evaluating candidates, communicating with candidates, and fulfilling legal obligations.
- The processing of personal data is based on the necessity for the performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations.
- Personal data will be retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable laws and regulations.
- Personal data may be shared with third parties involved in the administration of the Award, such as selection committee members, but only to the extent necessary for the performance of their duties.
- Candidates have the right to access, rectify, or erase their personal data, restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability. Requests should be directed to privacy@jfrog.com.
- Appropriate technical and organizational measures are in place to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- If personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards will be implemented to ensure the protection of personal data.
- Candidates have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if they believe their data protection rights have been violated.

6. Candidates' selection
The selection process will be conducted on a competitive basis. The Company will designate one or more individuals (the "Selection Committee") who will be responsible for verifying the compliance of the applications for the Award as well as the merits and capabilities of the candidates based on the applications submitted.
The Selection Committee will comprise the global CSR committee of JFrog, including the Lead Architect from Conan, the CSO of JFrog, and senior representatives from both the financial and legal departments.
The selection process will be based on the application form and the candidates' contributions to the code, as stated in the registration form. The Company reserves the right to conduct interviews as part of the registration process, should it be deemed necessary.
The decisions of the Selection Committee are discretionary and are neither reviewable nor appealable.
7. Deadlines
The call will open on May 26th and will close on June 30th.

The Selection Committee decision will be announced on July 20th. The winner will receive email communication from the Company.
8. Obligations of the Awardee
By submitting their application, the candidate accepts these rules (the "Rules"). In particular, the candidate agrees to:- Acceptance of the Award within ten calendar days from the official notification of the Selection Committee’s decision.
- Provide the documentation requested by the Company.
- Diligently, rigorously, honestly, and loyally complete the Academic Year and obtain the corresponding degree within the timeframe referred to in their study project.
- Send mid-term to the Company, accrediting their progress and results, endorsed by professors or directors, if necessary.
- Present the final academic results accredited by the university to the Company.
- Inform the Company about publishable works, granting free publication rights for 18 months from now and then.
- Allow the publication of your name and reference data in the media that the Company deems appropriate or pertinent within the limits of current legislation.
- Return the amounts received if the Academic Year is not completed according to the study project, or if a refund is required according to these bases.
The management of the Award endowment, as well as the functions of interpreting these Bases, monitoring, control, and sanction, if applicable, correspond to the Company, which is expressly accepted.
